The parish has been collecting food for the Bromley food banks since the end of 2011. We have four major collections a year and also keep a box at the back of church for people who like to drop off small quantities when they choose. One good spirited parishioner asked his birthday guests to donate food and money for this good cause instead of receiving presents. As a result of his generosity we were able to deliver 212kg of food and a cheque for £250. Over 2 tonnes of food (or about 3,000 meals) has been collected and delivered to our local food bank in just over two years. For the past seven years St James' has held a choral concert for charity. In 2013 the Foodbank was its chosen charity and the event raised £1,800.
