The CAFOD Connect2: Bangladesh web pages gave reports of the life and times of various individuals in Kainmari (sadly CAFOD has deleted these pages now). One of the villagers called Mollika gave a recipe for her fish curry (this was in 2012) and it gave us the idea to have a curry night in the church hall. We decided to start the event at 4 o'clock so that families of all ages could enjoy being together. As well as curries made by at least 10 parishioners, we had a two round quiz and Bangladeshi music and decorations. To amuse young children a couple of parishioners ran art and craft tables in a room off the main hall.
It proved to be incredibly popular and we raised £872 for Kainmari. We could have sold 150 tickets instead of the 96 which was the maximum number the hall could hold, and have been asked countless times since then if we are holding a repeat but other LiveSimply events have kept us busy.
