Worship space and Wildlife garden
The idea of creating a garden as part of LiveSimply was launched at all Masses on the weekend of 6/7th April 2013. Speakers explained that our LiveSimply action plan included the building of a garden that would be a beneficial resource and can be enjoyed and utilised by the whole parish throughout the year. It will be a garden that comprises a quiet place for meditation and reflection, an area for socialising, and a wildlife area, all of which encompass the LiveSimply values.
The design had been worked up during the winter months with a lot of careful thought by an enthusiastic team. The plan shown below was displayed in church together with the opportunity to sign up for the first working session which would be to commence site clearance. The garden will be situated in the far corner of the parish garden, currently the site of a huge and ancient compost heap. Detailed planting plans will be provided at a later date, along with the opportunity for parishioners to sponsor them. There are also a number of benches proposed in the plan, providing views of different aspects of the garden, which again can be sponsored. There will be a full shopping wish list of requirements with the chance for anyone to add a dedication; very much like the Remembrance Garden Roses, which had been well received.
