Regular events during term time
Mondays
Pondering the Word in church from 11.00am to 12noon; all are welcome to this quiet reflective way of looking at the following week's Gospel.
Tuesdays
Firm Believers is our Interchurch fun-fitness class, from 7.00-7.45 pm.  Suitable for all levels of fitness - go at your own pace.  Wear any comfortable clothing and shoes.  This is your chance to get fitter and slimmer. Relaxed atmosphere - come and give it a try for £5 a session (note change of fee). Stay on if you wish for tea, etc. and chat.  More details here.

Weekend 1st-2nd July
A representative from the Knights will be selling flowers after all three Masses with all the proceeds going to their action project The Passage, which is a charity based in London for homeless people to help transform their lives.
 
Sunday 2nd July
This weekend we welcome, through Holy Baptism, Mia Ellis and her parents Craig and Pia; Clara Lall and her parents Siddarth and Olivia; and Eric Laino and his parents Miguel and Malgorzata.
 
Sunday 9th July
The parish is invited to celebrate St James the Great's feast days and Fr David’s 25th Anniversary of his ordination.  The 11.00am Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Pat followed by (hopefully) the annual Fun Run and Garden Party.  Let this be a celebration for the whole community.  Everyone is invited.
 
Monday 10th July
The Pre-School invite all parishioners to watch the dress rehearsal of their show Noah’s Ark at 10.30am in the Community Centre.
 
Saturday 15th July
The next meeting of Dad & Me will be held at the Community Centre from  10.00-11.30am.
 
Sunday 16th July
This weekend we welcome, through Holy Baptism, Samuel Birch and his parents Derek and Elisabeth; and Kira Etherton and her parents Stuart and Cindy.

Senior Citizens’ Lunch
If you would like to attend this lunch at 1.00pm in the Community Centre, please sign the sheet at the back of the church by Thursday 13th July.  Transport can be provided, please email Peter Benson.
 
Monday 17th July
At a special Mass at 6.00pm we will be saying farewell to Mrs Bosher, the Head Teacher of St James’ Primary School, who is retiring.  Please let the parish office know if you would like to attend.
 
Wednesday 19th July
The Parish Pastoral Council
The next meeting of the Parish Pastoral Council will take place  at 7.30pm in the Community Centre.  Parishioners are very welcome to come along for the first half hour of the meeting.  Alternatively, you may raise any relevant issue using the PPC mailbox which is ppc@stjamespettswood.org

This weekend we welcome, through Holy Baptism, Veronica and Patrick Cleary and their parents Declan and Margaret.
 
Monday 24th July
The next meeting of the Catholic Women’s League will be held in the Community Centre at 8.00pm.  Please come along if you would like to learn more about the CWL.
 
Wednesday 26th July
The Justice & Peace Group will meet at 7.45pm in the Parish Office meeting room (281A Crescent Drive).  All parishioners are assured of a warm welcome.
 
Thursday 27th July
One Parish Weekend
Our 2017 Autumn Festival is scheduled for Saturday 30th September during the afternoon and we are aiming to celebrate our multi-cultural community with stalls showcasing different foods, costume, photos and other possibilities.  Fr David invites all parishioners to meet at 8.00pm in the Community Centre for a discussion about the Festival.
