Pondering the Word in church from 11.00am to 12noon; all are welcome to this quiet reflective way of looking at the following week's Gospel.
Firm Believers is our Interchurch fun-fitness class, from 7.00-7.45 pm.  Suitable for all levels of fitness - go at your own pace.  Wear any comfortable clothing and shoes.  This is your chance to get fitter and slimmer. Relaxed atmosphere - come and give it a try for £5 a session (note change of fee). Stay on if you wish for tea, etc. and chat.  More details here.

Lenten Reconciliation Service
“Lent is a favourable season for renewing our encounter with Christ, living His word in our sacraments and in our neighbour”, said Pope Francis.  Everyone is  welcome to attend this service of reconciliation at 8.00pm.

Palm Sunday 9th April
Re-enactment of the Stations of the Cross for the whole family is  at 4.00pm.  We are looking for Actors and Readers.  All the family may take part in this Devotion.  There will be three rehearsals – Saturday 1st April at 11.00am-12.30pm and Saturday 8th April at 11.00am-12.30pm and Sunday the 9th April at 2.00pm.  Come and experience the passion and death of Christ by being part of the Greatest Story ever told.
Good Friday 14th April
The Petts Wood Churches Together Good Friday Service will take place at Southborough Lane Baptist Church at 10:30 am.
A Good Friday service will take place at 3.00pm in St James' church.
There will be a Taizé Service at 8.00pm in St James' church.  Join us to pray around the cross.
Easter Saturday 15th April
This is the Polish traditional blessing of Easter Baskets.  Please join us in celebrating this colourful and engaging tradition by bringing your own “Święconka” to St James’ for a short (15-20 min) blessing service.  Blessing will be done in Polish and English.  All very welcome.
LiveSimply Garden
If you can spare an hour to help refresh the garden after winter, it would be much appreciated by the LiveSimply gardeners who will be working there from 10.00am until lunchtime.  It would be good to have it looking nice for the Easter Sunday Egg hunt.

Easter Sunday 16th April
Children's Easter Egg Hunt and cake sale
The Friends of St James’ invite the children of the Parish to an Easter egg hunt, taking place after the 9.15am Mass on Easter Sunday.  Children will be provided with a basket to collect the eggs and the cost will be £3 per child payable on the day.  Let's hope the April showers stay away.  If they do, the hunt will take place in the Parish garden.  If not, it will be in the Community Centre.  We'll also be hosting a cake sale in the Community Centre at the same time and donations of delicious homemade cakes are most welcome.  Please let the Parish Office know if you can help.
Saturday 22nd April
All young people in the Bromley Deanery between the ages of 10-18 years are invited to attend a Youth Mass at 6.00pm in St Joseph’s Church, Plaistow Lane, Bromley.  As usual, there will be afternoon workshops from 3.30-5.30pm in the Upper Room and the theme for this session will be to explore ‘The Creed’.  Musicians, singers and artists, as well as those good at drama, will be needed to make this a success.

St James’ Social Club
The AGM will be held at 12.30pm in the Community Centre.  The club is responsible for the running and licensing of the bar.  All are welcome to attend.
Seniors’ Afternoon Tea on St George's Day
The Friends of St James’ invite all our senior parishioners to a celebratory St George's afternoon tea in the Community Centre starting at 3.00pm.  The cost will be £3 per person.  If you would like to come along, please leave your name and £3 payment in the Parish Office before the Easter weekend.  Please also let the office know if you would like transport for the event.  We hope you can come along to enjoy the afternoon!
Monday 24th April
Petts Wood Catholic Women's League will hold their monthly meeting at 8.00pm in the Community Centre.  They will be having a talk about jewellery and there will also be a chance to buy items.  A percentage of the sales will go to charity.
Wednesday 26th April
Mass will be held in St James' School at 9.00am with Year 4 pupils and all are welcome to attend.
The next Parish Pastoral Council meeting will take place at 7.30pm in the Community Centre.  Parishioners are very welcome to come along for the first half hour of the meeting.  Alternatively, they can raise any relevant issue using the PPC mailbox which is

Knights of St Columba St George’s Day Celebration
There will be a social evening from 7.00-11.00pm with singing and dancing in the Community Centre.  Please bring your own food.  Family tickets cost £10 and individual tickets £5.  These will be on sale after all Masses.
Sunday 30th April
Songs from West End Musicals
A concert at 7.30pm given by The London Concert Chorus to include Songs from the Musicals.  It is in aid of Parish funds.
