Welcome to Mass today  Feast of SS Peter and Paul.  The ‘Peter’s Pence collection’ is for the upkeep of the Holy See (Admin of the Vatican, HQ of the Catholic Church.)  Remember that the Pope is the successor of Saint Peter.  From today for one year we are asked by the Church to make it a year of Saint Paul.  This apostle was the first great missionary of the Church (he wrote most of the letters in the New Testament) and there will be events celebrating him throughout the year.  Both Peter and Paul were martyred in Rome in about the year 65AD and this is why the HQ of the Catholic Church is in Rome.

Second collection today for Peter's Pence.

We Welcome        Emma Doyle, Sue Ayley, Rebecca Blighton, Sue Ingle, Jack Ingle and Andrew Dalgleish into full membership of the Catholic Church (11.30am Mass)

Sunday:                Taizé service by candlelight at 8.00pm – meditation, silence, reflection, song.  Do come.

Monday:                No Journey in Faith this week.

CWL Meeting 7.30pm.  At 8pm we will have a speaker from the ‘Scrine foundation’ – a charity based in the Broadstairs area – which helps rehabilitate people with addictions.  All Parishioners welcome. Further details from Barbara Bridle.

Tuesday:               Key Stage One children from St James’ School will be making a tour of the Church (10am).

Saturday:              Military Whist Drive (7.30pm) to raise funds for Francis Charlesworth who will be going to India in August as part of BSES (British Schools Exploration Society).  £6 including food.
