Today we commemorate Saints Peter & Paul – the ‘foundation apostles of the church’. Peter led the church in Rome and Paul preached the Gospel to non-Jews around the Mediterranean.
Today, we need priests who will both build up the church (like Peter) and spread Christ’s message to all who will hear (like Paul).
Today we have a second collection for the work of our Diocesan Seminary – St John’s, Wonersh (near Guildford) which trains men for ordination and where I myself was trained (I was ordained on 26th June 1999). Also please take one of the green A4 sheets from the porch which give many practical ideas as to how we can foster vocations to the priesthood. And thanks to all of you for your support of my ministry here.
It is great that we have Fr Arbo Lekule with us until the end of August when he will be posted to his new parish.
