Today is Vocations Sunday – with reference to the ordained ministry of the priesthood. Future priests of course come from our parish communities and I wonder if any single men in our congregation would like to explore the idea? I am very happy to speak confidentially with any such man about the Catholic priesthood which for me is an immense privilege and a deep joy (perhaps we could meet for a drink?) also do talk about the priesthood with your families and friends – the supply is running out!

This evening at 6.30pm Bernard Ingham will be ‘Face to face’ with the Rev. Paul Hulme at the Methodist Church (see poster in porch and please support.)

 

Confirmation Away Day Will parents please take the letter and consent form from porch and return ASAP – thank you.

 

Can I encourage you all to receive Holy Communion in both kinds, i.e. both the sacred host and the cup? In this way we are participating fully in the sign character of the Eucharist and obeying our Lords clear command: “Take this, all of you, and drink from it.........do this in memory of me.”
