We welcome Kelvin Mwansa into membership of the church through Holy Baptism (Sat 4.15pm).  Kevin will be confirmed at our Confirmation Mass on Thursday.  Our prayers and best wishes are with him and his family, and with all our candidates as they prepare.

 

Monday          Confirmation rehearsal (in church) 6.45-8.00pm.  ALL candidates – and sponsors if possible – are required to be at this rehearsal.

 

                        Journey in Faith (individual sessions from 8.00pm onwards) – Servers’ room.

 

Tuesday         Servers practice for Confirmation Mass 6.00 – 7.00pm.  Please note time – this is an essential rehearsal.

 

                        Justice & Peace group in the Social Centre 8.00pm.  Minutes of last meeting available in porch and on the website – new members most welcome.

 

Wednesday    Children’s Liturgy Group – Leaders meeting in servers room 8.00pm.

 

Thursday       Confirmation Mass at 7.30pm (Bishop Paul Hendricks) we have fifty candidates. Would candidates and sponsors please be in the Social Centre by 7.00pm – servers in Servers’ Room by 7.00pm.

 

Saturday        Wedding of Shabana Waraich and Kevin Rebello at 2.00pm – our best wishes to this couple for a long and happy married life.

 

                        The 6.00pm Mass is for ‘newcomers to the parish’ and will be followed by a social event in the Social Centre.  If you are a ‘new’ person to St James do come!  But please sign list in porch to help with catering arrangements.  Children welcome – a great way to get to know each other, quite informal.

 

The Knights of Columba would like to thank everybody who attended and supported the Rock & Blues event held in the Social Centre last Saturday 3rd May in aid of the Samaritans.  A total of £340 was raised on the night and, added to sponsorship, the grand total was £840.

August 2nd – 9th this is for anyone in the 17-35 age group and will be a fantastic week in Burgundy, France!  Meeting in Presbytery Tuesday 20th May at 8.00pm for anyone interested. Cost approx. £150 plus valid passport.
