The wise men in the Gospel story today were searchers.  Like all of us they had to face the basic questions of life: who am I, where am I from, what is my destiny, does life have any meaning?  At the start of a new year we have a great opportunity to re-evaluate our lives and think about these questions afresh.

Perhaps one of the great crises of our time is that many people do not know where or how they can “fit in” to the ongoing story of the world.  In our post modern world many are fearful of these questions, and shy away from them, whilst for others, they do not even seem to be part of their agenda.  However ...

... you may (like the wise men) be a searcher and may have questions.  The wise men found the answer to their lives in a cattle shed in Bethlehem and they were transformed by their experience, as countless millions of people have been in the past 2,000 years.

You are warmly invited (without obligation) to a special “taster evening” on Monday 11th January at 8.30pm on the basics of the Catholic Faith.  This will outline our new course Evangelium, which will start on Monday 18th January.  This course is mainly for non-Catholics but Catholics would also be welcome!  Coffee from 8.15pm – just turn up!  See information below.

A warm welcome to Mass today as we celebrate the Epiphany (“revelation”) of Jesus as the saviour of the entire human race.  Christmas season actually officially ends next Sunday 10th January with Our Lord’s Baptism – another “epiphany” or moment of recognition of him and his divine status and mission.
