1. Budget - Funding / Donations etc.
Discussed Parish funding of Materials, Plants and Furniture.

This will be conveyed to Parish in Briefly and also in a brief talk during Masses weekend 6/7 April to explain what we’re doing and why and also to ask for volunteers for the clearing work party.

I’ll write up the notes for that and will probably deliver the talk at 11.00 Mass.     Joe

Spoken to The Woodland Trust regarding them supplying the hedging for
the garden. We have to submit final proposal to them in the next month. They will make a decision and if fit the criteria and we’re successful would receive them around November for planting. From all conversations so far looking very hopeful.  Joe

2. Plans / ideas

Presented Proposed Plans. Well received. These will be on Display to the Parish from weekend 6/7 April to coincide with talk and request for donations. Final Planting plans to be agreed at later date.          All

3. Timing / Planning

First stage clearing of site to take place on Saturday 20 April from 9.00am to 4.00pm. We will ask for volunteers to help and also to take away and dispose of as much as possible. Full Project Plan to be confirmed asap.

We will put together a ‘Shopping List’ with prices for donations.                             All

We aim to have the basis of the garden complete by July.                                       All

4. Organising work parties:

Clearing / Building / Planting

As Point 3. We will ask volunteers to bring garden waste bags and any tools that they can. No children to be present during clearing. Ask people to do as much as they can and they don’t have to commit to the whole day.

Building and planting next stages to be confirmed. We want to see what the response of donations etc. will be. Before project planning and setting timelines.

5. Communications to Parish

Briefly information / Website updates / Other ideas

Communicate in Briefly to keep Parish updated of progress and guide them to the website where we can visually show the progress as it builds and takes shape. We can also show this on the allocated wall area. It would be good to show images of people working on the various aspects of the garden.

Meet up with Roger to go through our plans. Arranged for Thursday 28 March.    Joe
