Today, as we respond to God’s call to live in solidarity with the poor, we ask for help and guidance as we bring our prayers to Him.

1

The gifts of the earth are distributed unevenly, and we long to lift up those in need; we ask the Lord to soften the hearts of those who place personal or national gain above the good of the whole.

Lord in Your mercy, …

2

We thank God for the beautiful world that He has given us – for the seas, for mountains, rivers, fields, and our woods and the environment of Petts Wood.  We pray that governments will take action to protect fragile environments of countries like Bangladesh.

Lord in Your mercy, …

3

We thank God for the gifts of technology which enable us to seek out the poor in other parts of the world.  We ask the Lord to help us get to know the people of Kainmari and for them to feel loved by us as we seek to know more about them and their difficulties.

Lord in Your mercy, …

4

We have heard from Kainmari that one of the villagers called Profulla is very ill, and so we pray for his recovery.  We pray that our help will improve general medical conditions in Kainmari.

Lord in Your mercy, …

5

Let us remember in these prayers, those who are sick in our parish, and also the doctors, the nurses, and all who care for them.

Lord in Your mercy, …

6

We will now say the LiveSimply prayer which you will find on the back page of Briefly.

Father of Creation, we see a world divided between those who live well and those barely able to live.  We pray for the courage to change the ways in which we live and to be good stewards of creation.  We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen.
