A double issue of Briefly this week!

Today we celebrate God the Holy Trinity- Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that God is “in relationship” with himself. In fact, God is a “community of persons”, a trinity of perfect outgoing love. We, as the Church are invited into this eternal “dance” – to focus our lives on the Father (as did Jesus) and then to express the love of God to others (Holy Spirit).

We can do this today! :

·         Please would each adult in your family fill in and post in porch box your Mass times form (last day today) – thank you

·         Last Sunday’s second collection for the Pope’s visit – you might like to contribute today if you have not already done so (envelopes in porch)

·         Please let us have your up to date details (if they have changed) for our parish register

·         Gift- Aid – this is such a tremendous help to us financially. If you pay UK tax and would like to join this regular giving scheme please contact Geoff Ford at gift.aid@stjamespettswood.org

·         Newcomers – please take and fill in form so that the welcoming team can invite you to the welcome evening on June 19th

Welcome to Mass today.

We welcome through Holy Baptism Lily Cecily Pritchard, her parents Jason and Anita and godparents Heinz and Cheryl (last Thursday 3pm)

Today’s homily is on the Vatican II document “Gaudium et Spes” (1965)- the relationship of the Church to the Modern World.

Trinity

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,

Mother, Daughter, He and She,

Compassed in one mystery.

Pattern of all relationships,

Creating, powerful;

Sustaining, not contained,

Outflowing into us

Drawn into you. O Holy God

We worship you.

A poem by Ann Lewin
