Today we introduce the new English translation of the Mass. Make sure you have the laminated card with all the peoples’ responses. It should all be familiar within a few weeks. The second stage will be at the start of Advent (December) when the full rite (including priests’ parts) will be introduced. We shall be providing parish Mass books for everyone, which will include the scripture readings.

We welcome through Holy Baptism (Saturday) Casey May Coulthurst (10 yrs) her parents Debs and Tony and godparents Joanne and Neil; Aara Kaur Chima (1 yr), her parents Kyla and Vikram and godparents Angelica and James; and Nuala Rhiannon Phillips (7 mths), her parents Fiona and Paul and godparents Ursula and Noel.

This evening Taizé service at 7.00.pm, followed by refreshments. This is a wonderful way to finish a summer Sunday....do come along if you have never been before. Several of our young people went to Taizé recently.

Mass intentions: We can now claim Gift Aid on Mass donations- so if you are a Gift Aider please write your number on the (new style) envelope. (Please give sufficient notice if you are requesting a specific date/time for a Mass.)

No school registrations today- (starts again next week).

Autumn Festival

With the Autumn Festival coming up very soon we welcome your donations of suitable raffle items and bottles of any kind for the tombola.  There is a box in the corridor at the back of the church to put them in.

From next weekend we will be looking for volunteers to help on a stall.  Thank you to everyone who has volunteered so far.  Thank you also to Sheila Simon for encouraging the children to come to the craft sessions during August , to support the Festival.  Do make sure the date is in your diary and join us on the 1st October

Childrens’ Liturgy Group recommences on Sunday 18th Sept at the 9.15am Mass.  Meeting for all involved in childrens’ liturgy on at 8pm in the Social Centre on Wednesday Sept 7th  We are also considering starting another group for years 3-6 possibly monthly.  If your child would like to participate please sign the list in the porch, indicating preferred Mass time for this group.

Notices and Notice Boards

There is much information on the porch board – do have a look as you leave Mass.  Our new outside board is being painted and should be in position soon.

Time and Talents Sheets

Only about 106 received!  I do hope each adult member of the congregation (about 600) will return a form (in porch) – perhaps today?  It’s all part of our mission and outreach – we need everyone!!  We are tabulating your responses.

I hope many of you have managed an August break.  We had a motoring holiday in Ireland (our first time in the Republic) and then a week in Norfolk with the family.

Now onwards and (hopefully) upwards….!

Every blessing, Fr Bryan
