This week (18th-25th) is the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.  The church must eventually be united according to the mind of Christ but we as a Christian community at St James must also be united with both Christ and with one another.

If you are ever concerned about any parish issue please feel free to chat to me on Sundays or make an appointment to see me.  Alternatively, you could discuss your concerns with anyone on the Pastoral and Advisory, or Mission and Planning, Teams whose contact details are on our website.

Communication is the name of the game and perhaps this is one of the reasons why the churches for centuries have been disunited and fragmented.  In Petts Wood your ministers meet together regularly and our churches share in many common projects.

Christians must communicate with each other – so I do hope you will come to the special Unity Service this evening (Sunday) at 7pm when we have invited our Christian sisters and brothers to worship with us here at St James.

Pope John Paul II said that church unity is about the giving and receiving of gifts by each Christian tradition. As Catholics we have much to offer but we also have much to learn from others – but we must make the effort and engage or it simply will never happen.

Mass attendances last Sunday were 606.
