Thank you so much for your generosity last weekend. You gave £790 to the St. Barnabas Society, and you also gave enough food to the Orpington Foodbank to feed 20 people for a week!
I occasionally hear of people in the parish who are in need of various kinds. Never hesitate to contact me (in complete confidence)- we may be able help. As the Body of Christ, we are called to support one another in all kinds of ways (my family and I were grateful for the help of the St. Barnabas Society when I became a Catholic).
Today- 2nd collection for Maintenance and Refurbishment Fund. We’re nearly there! - please keep giving generously (Gift Aid please!!) so that we can re-roof the Social Centre in August.
Coach Fayre to Whitstable - confirmation parents - can I please have this (£15) TODAY please – thank you.
This evening at 5pm we have our monthly Taizé service (about 40 mins). This consists of the lovely Taizé music, silence, prayer and reflection. Do come – it is a lovely spiritual ‘oasis’ at the end of a Sunday.
Mass attendances last Sunday were 650.

‘Unless a seed dies’
A poem for Eastertide by Ann Lewin.
Christ is in me, the life
Within the seed-case of my self.
Waiting to be set free.
Light growing in darkness,
In secret, patiently
Pushing against self-will.
Christ is the secret that
I cannot keep, he will
Break through entombing
Fearfulness; my seed-case
Broken open will release
His life, his image
Forming my maturity.
