This weekend sees the climax of Pope Benedict’s visit with the beatification of Cardinal Newman in Birmingham. We are united in prayer with our own parishioners present at that event, and pray too that the holiness of Newman may inspire and encourage us all. Do read about his life (1801-1890). He founded the English Oratorians (South Kensington and then Birmingham). Perhaps you could pray in the Oratory Church next to the V&A museum next time you are there.

Robert and for the whole Anglican community at St Francis.  On Saturday the Rev Simon Cragg was instituted as the Minister of Southborough Lane Baptist – again we welcome him and his family and pray for a long and fruitful ministry here.

Many thanks to those came to the forum last Thursday. It was a truly wonderful evening due to the tremendous work of our parish teams and architect Michael Mamalis.  Please look at the exhibition and discuss the issues with the Team members, who will be available after Mass, in preparation for Oct. 14^th, when we shall meet again to discuss next steps.

Tuesday 28^th 8.30pm – All non Catholics (18+) are most welcome to this introductory evening of Evangelium, a course on the basics of the Catholic Faith.  Welcoming, relaxed and with no obligation.  I am also always happy to talk personally with non Catholics, and in particular those of you who worship with your families here in St James.
