This weekend we pause and remember those who have died in war.  Perhaps the only authentic response is silence – or perhaps poetry:

All heaven weeps to see the earth abused and maimed by war and strife,

When people hate, when people fight and rob each other of their life.

For we know not what we do

When greed prevails and, crushed by power, the poor are trampled on again,

Next Sunday (20th) Traidcraft goods after Mass. Taizé service at 7pm.
Saturday 26th St James’ School Christmas Fayre 12pm to 3pm. Lights in Petts Wood (carol singers please 4pm to 4.30pm and 5pm to 5.30pm). CWL Military Whist Drive 7.30pm for 8pm.  £6 incl refreshments.  020 8467 6589 or book today with CWL members.
The Disco scheduled for 3rd December has now been CANCELLED.
Sunday 11th December – Senior Citizens Lunch.  Please sign list in porch.
Sunday 4th December at 4pm.  Penitential Service for Advent (with visiting priests).  We are all encouraged to make our confession before Christmas.  I hope the church will be full.
Confirmation 2012 – still a few slips to be returned (spares in porch).  Next meeting for young people Sunday 11th December 7pm to 8.30pm.
