Lent begins on Ash Wednesday (Wed. week- 22nd).

I hope everyone will come and receive the ashes of repentance at Mass on that day, either at 9.30am or 8pm.  Let’s make our Lent a real time of spiritual growth, in ourselves personally, and in our parish community.  Have a look at the reading available on the porch table, - parents, the Day by Day Infant and Junior are excellent value.

In front of you, you will find a copy of A Simple Prayer Book.  We have invested in these for the whole parish- please do not remove from church. This is the new edition, with the new English translation of the Mass.  You may find it useful to follow the Eucharistic Prayers (pp. 63 ff), which do not appear on our Mass leaflets.  This booklet is an absolute treasury of Catholic prayer, doctrine and devotion – for just £1.95- available in the repository (church shop) after Mass.  Do use it before and after Mass as well - we can order more copies for purchase.

Mass attendances last Sunday were 526.

Security.  There have been break-ins in this area (I have heard of at least 3 in the past week).  Do keep vigilant about your personal security, doors, windows, etc.

A warm welcome to newcomers - please make yourself known after Mass, and come in to the adjacent hall for coffee.

This week is half-term for most schools.  It would be nice to see more people at Daily Mass (9.30am).........if you are away don’t forget your Sunday Mass.

Every blessing to you all for the coming week.
