This weekend we remember the dead of the two world wars, and all who have fallen in war.  ’Grant them, Lord, eternal rest.’

Pope Francis is calling a special synod of Bishops in Rome next year to discuss Marriage and Family Life.  To help the bishops, all of us are invited to complete a brief questionnaire.  There are hard copies of this in the porch but I hope most of you will respond online.  We have produced a help sheet to help you respond to each question. (It follows the exact numbering of the questionnaire).  The closing date for all replies is November 30th.

This is an almost unprecedented opportunity for you to have your say!  The Holy Father and his associates genuinely want to hear the experiences of ordinary Catholics, like us, so that we can support marriage and the family, and offer real support to those in difficulties or irregular situations.  So please – read it carefully, pray about it - and send it off.

Today we have a 2nd collection for the Archbishop’s Administration Fund.  You can imagine, perhaps, the costs of running our huge diocese, with almost 200 parishes.  I know you will be generous.

Today also; Traidcraft Goods will be on sale after all Masses.  Please buy something, and help those struggling to earn a living in very poor parts of God’s world.  Also cakes and bric a brac (CWL) after 11am.

Next Sunday: Annual Mission Appeal- this year a missionary from the Society of African Missions will preach and appeal at all Masses.

Next Sunday also we are collecting for the Bromley Foodbank.  You will be given a flyer after Mass.  It is incredible that thousands of families in our borough would go hungry if we did not help. Again I know you will respond warmly. (See our website as well).

Following on from this, the Foodbank are asking for volunteers to hand out leaflets to shoppers, asking them to buy ONE extra item to donate to the Foodbank.  This will be on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 November at local Tesco branches. Please contact Mary Beckingham on g.beckingham@ntlworld.com if you can help (you only commit for a certain time).

Attendance last week was 614.
