This weekend we welcome Francesca Henbest, who works for CAFOD, and who will be speaking at all Masses.  Thank you for bringing in your Harvest Fast Day offerings – and thanks also for your food gifts for the Manna Centre (flyers in porch).

We welcome our uniformed organisations to the Parade Mass at 11am.

Julian Arnold writes:

The Autumn Festival was an enormous success last Saturday! Over 350 adults, plus children enjoyed the great variety of stalls and games.  The weather could not have been better!  A huge thank you to the many parishioners and groups who volunteered their time, energy and talents.  As well as bringing the parish together we trumped last year’s total by raising well over £3,500, which will contribute towards the Social Centre refurbishment we have planned.  Thank you again, everyone.

A massive vote of thanks to Julian, Sue David and Sue Mannix (and others, too many to mention) for co-ordinating the Festival and for making it such a wonderful parish event.

Thanks also to Denise Merriman who ran the Galway half-marathon on the day of the Festival – her sponsorship will raise another £1,286 (which will be matched by her employer!).  A wonderful effort on behalf of the parish.  We now have approximately £88,500 towards our target of £120,000 for re-roofing the Social Centre- and many thanks to a few very generous donations that have been made in the past week.  Thank you, everyone.  Note that you can still sponsor Denise – just click here.

Mass attendances last Sunday were 707.
