LiveSimply prayer Compassionate
and loving God, you
created the world for us all to share, a
world of beauty and plenty. Create
in us a desire to live simply, so
that our lives may reflect your generosity. Creator
God, You
gave us responsibility for the earth, a
world of riches and delight. Create
in us a desire to live sustainably, so
that those who follow after us may
enjoy the fruits of your creation. God
of peace and justice, You
give us the capacity to change, to
bring about a world that mirrors your wisdom. Create
in us a desire to act in solidarity, so
that the pillars of injustice crumble and
those now crushed are set free. Amen. Linda

Progress reports – Substantial actions
Simply: Outdoor worship space and garden
Excellent progress has been made by Joe Falzon and his design team
Description of objectives and proposed design received this week. Really impressed and excited about this initiative.
I will meet with Joe to discuss next steps. There will be plenty of opportunity to sponsor parts of the garden: plants, benches, paving slabs, etc.
Sustainably: Reduce carbon footprint by 10%
No developments since last meeting but awaiting outcome of Presbytery reductions and switching to renewable energy supplier later this year.
Solidarity: Connect2 Bangladesh – Kainmari Curry Night.
Good progress being made here with initial planning meeting 2 weekends ago and lots of people on board for various organising and assisting roles. Needs pulling together which some of us hope to do after this meeting.
Great effort by Suzanne Horner in organising a Bingo session for Brownies, Rainbows and their friends/siblings. It raised £280 for Connect2.
Progress reports – Supporting actions
Simply: No progress on other actions except Linda and craft club idea – Linda to revisit craft club.
Next LiveSimply Mass needs planning and I can’t do it this time. 6/7th April. (the banner, bidding prayers, feature perhaps, hymn arranging with Susan, whatever the organiser feels can be added. Perhaps launching the tree scheme for example. – agreed it should be Joe and garden). Send Mary template for bidding prayers.
Sustainably: Tree planting scheme ready for launch with application form and sample certificates giving full information. 10 trees ordered so far and Fr Bryan should be giving out info to baptismal parents this evening.
Now need the tree and leaves at back of church (back of church??) then we can announce it more publicly. Have to be careful not to overshadow garden sponsorship.
Recycling. Mary Ingledew’s mother has been diagnosed with terminal cancer, so please remember her in your prayers. Mary wants to get back to this action but not until things are a bit clearer for her.
Solidarity: Liturgy – Mary’s efforts to involve groups – Roger to call people when Mary supplies list
Foodbank – special gesture by one parishioner
Housebound packs – Linda’s idea– disappointed by response but will persevere
