LiveSimply prayer – say together
Purpose of meeting
The launch is over
Now we have to plan activities, who will supervise and who will run each one.
Execution
Agree rough timetable so that supporting actions are spread evenly (or over whole period where appropriate)
Appoint LiveSimply group member for each action
Find group or person who will effectively run each one
Shall we start by considering the Substantial actions first?
Garden
I spoke to a few people at the Festival about the garden project.
Joe Falzon and I discussed it as we stood by the site and he was happy with location and size. He is a graphic designer and included garden design in his work so is ideal. Also enthusiastic about the idea.
Llew Thomas expressed an interest in being involved.
Also spoke to Stewart Cosgrave who was supposed to plan this into the scout programme. He hadn’t but still thought they would help. Mentioned that they have a bonfire on the site each November. There was some humorous discussion about building a fire into the design and I now have an idea how this could be done – could be important to keep them on side.
I also found another person who has interest in gardening and would probably be prepared to help, namely Anne Said. Husband friend of Keith Lams.
We should also talk to Frank Simon and anyone else who helps with the gardening.
Suggest it is time to get a working party together so it can plan things out ready for working in March. There is a lot of concrete to remove first but I have an idea who might help us remove it. We might persuade the scouts that they clear the area for burning on their bonfire in early November.
Suggest we get this going first - who knows who and would like to ring up to invite to a meeting? Personal touch best. See full list on next page.
Must remember to take photos before we start as well as getting permission from Fr Bryan.
Carbon
Response from Chris Hairs to email sent on Monday contained a worrying slant

Will have this on the agenda for J&P next week.
Supporting actions
I emailed the school at start of term to say we hadn’t forgotten their project – repeated last night.
Have been emailing St John Vianney in Tottenham about Rich Man Poor Man dinner
Different formats can be used
They got 80 parishioners of all ages including families to attend theirs
Immediate action – let’s start by using the liturgy to constantly remind people of what we are trying to do. Shall we ask Susan to teach children the LiveSimply song? Display board Teresa?

What is situation following FC meeting?
Austin wasn't present but he believed the idea had been accepted.
Now that BG have announced 6-8% increase this might be even more popular with FC.

J&P meeting next week when I hope we'll get some ideas sorted out
Review of other actions
Guides, Brownies, etc - need to talk to Sue and Susanne
Concerned that project board may not have taken us seriously (what's happening to old tiles for example?)
RMPM dinner - tables of 6 or 8; 1 person gets a steak and the rest vegetarian pierogi (Polish?) or bread and cheese; need entertainment, a speaker, a quiz, etc.; who could we ask to help organise this (Peter Keen and Susan Lams said they would help but haven't asked them again). It's on the timetable for this Autumn. We should aim to have it before Christmas season starts and get some ideas people on board.

But Mariantha's format is easier to organise - see email from St John Vianney. Top table with silver service and everyone else has sandwiches. Raffle at the start chooses who gets the posh meal. Obviously need supporting material, speeches, entertainment, etc.
Notes from Newcomers' reception
Chantal Bardouille asked what we did for the elderly in St James'
She is a dance teacher in Tower Hamlets working with immigrants and deprived communities (she was positive about helping the young at St James')
James and Caroline Fitzgerald liked the idea of a walk to Mass day (or leave car at home day) even though they live in Victoria Rd
Susan Scripture would like to engage in terms of the music for 11am Mass, so we should look at CAFOD resources for suitable material
Also spoke to Liam Carland who asked about LiveSimply in the hall after Mass and could be keen
and a lady who was keen to take a LiveSimply prayer card
Met young couple Lol and Mag who had just spent their first night in their new home in Trinity Village
Evidence collected so far
Photos at Festival especially those highlighting crafts, resale, homemade food, quiz, banner presence, etc
Keep list of names of people who get involved

|
Compassionate and loving God, |
you created the world for us all to share, |
a world of beauty and plenty. |
Create in us a desire to live simply, |
so that our lives may reflect your generosity. |
|
Creator God, |
You gave us responsibility for the earth, |
a world of riches and delight. |
Create in us a desire to live sustainably, |
so that those who follow after us |
may enjoy the fruits of your creation. |
|
God of peace and justice, |
You give us the capacity to change, |
to bring about a world that mirrors your wisdom. |
Create in us a desire to act in solidarity, |
so that the pillars of injustice crumble |
and those now crushed are set free. |
Amen. |
