LiveSimply - Children at Mass
The liturgy at our Masses on 9th March was enhanced by two different age groups of our parish children. During 9.15am Mass, four of the Children’s Liturgy group read specially composed bidding prayers before joining the whole group in singing “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands”. As they joined Fr Bryan in the sanctuary, each of them brought a small gift representing God’s creation.
The 11am Mass congregation was entertained by the Brownie group who described the work done gaining their World Issues badges. They displayed posters and described CAFOD, WaterAid, Save the Children, Tree planting, and the Fairtrade Foundation. They then asked Fr Bryan some questions about how the cost of a banana was divided between the five processes. He presented the group with a Woodland Trust certificate of dedication for the 17 trees the Brownies had planted using money raised in a recent cake sale. They were given their badges as they left the sanctuary to applause from the congregation.
At all Masses that weekend the congregation heard the CAFOD Lent Fast Day appeal and Traidcraft sales were made at the back of church.
