Nature Walk and Picnic
On the evening of Tuesday 23rd July 2013, under a slightly threatening sky, the Firm Believers group and a few others set off to walk together in Jubilee Park, after saying the LiveSimply prayer together. Jenny our leader guided us along pleasant paths in the peaceful park, stopping occasionally to give us some interesting information about our location.
In one of the uncut wild grassy areas we observed a huge number of "six-spot Burnet" moths (see photo). We stopped to look at one of the ponds which have been conserved and improved for wild life. After strolling for almost two miles we rested at the enclosed and immaculately kept picnic table area for a shared meal. There was no shortage of appetising food and some had also remembered to bring useful equipment like a tablecloth, plates and cutlery. Having chatted, eaten and cleared away our leftovers (not many), the Firm Believers went through the cooling down routine of a massage line - well that's just what they do, so everyone did!
It was a great evening out especially as the weather behaved itself, despite the initial signs of rain and thunder. Thank you Firm Believers for your support of LiveSimply in coming up with this idea. They are a very nice bunch of people so why not join them each Tuesday evening to get fit!
