You will all have heard about CAFOD’s current campaign called Share the Journey. Inspired by Pope Francis, the campaign is asking us all to take action and show support for people forced to flee their homes.
Put your faith into action with a walk from Petts Wood to Hayes to raise awareness of the challenges faced by refugees globally. The walk will start after 9.30am Mass with a blessing from Fr David. The route is just under 9 miles and aims to finish around 4.45pm at Our Lady of the Rosary, Hayes. For more information email nick.babb@stjamespettswood.org.
Ann Milner, a parishioner from Hitchin, Hertfordshire (Westminster Diocese) is walking the London Outer Orbital Path (LOOP) and is inviting parishes along the route to join her in this pilgrimage. This is a great opportunity to engage with the campaign and raise some awareness of the global challenges of refugees and displaced people, by extending an invitation to all for a walk together and reflect on the theme of this campaign.
There will be refreshments in the Community Centre after Mass if you would like to come just for Mass and coffee afterwards. Click for joining details and prayer stops information. There are a number of points at which the walk can be joined or finished if you would like to walk only part of the route.
If you would like any more information about the walk or about Share the Journey campaign then please do just get in contact with Nick.
