Pondering the Word in church from 11.00am to 12noon; all are welcome to this quiet reflective way of looking at the following week's Gospel.
Tuesdays
Firm Believers is our Interchurch fun-fitness class, from 7.00-7.45 pm. Suitable for all levels of fitness - go at your own pace. Wear any comfortable clothing and shoes. This is your chance to get fitter and slimmer. Relaxed atmosphere - come and give it a try for £5 a session (note change of fee). Stay on if you wish for tea, etc. and chat. More details here. The Parent Toddler group meets from 1.30-3.00pm in the Community Centre.

Sunday 1st April
Children's Easter Egg Hunt Easter
The Friends of St James’ invite the children of the Parish to an Easter egg hunt taking place after the 9.15am Mass on Easter Sunday. Children will be provided with a basket to collect the eggs and the cost will be £3 per child payable on the day. Let's hope the April showers stay away. If they do, the hunt will take place in the Parish garden. If not, it will be in the Community Centre.

The Parish Pastoral Council
The next meeting of the PPC will take place at 7.30pm in the Community Centre. You may raise any relevant issue using the PPC mailbox which is ppc@stjamespettswood.org or place a note in the suggestion box in the church porch.
Tuesday 10th April
The Requiem Mass for Christopher Haynes will take place at 11.00am. There will be no Mass at 9.30am today.
Saturday 14th April
St James’ Youth Group
The next Junior Youth Group will be held in the Community Centre from noon to 2.00pm. £1.50 per session - which includes lunch.

This weekend we welcome, through Holy Baptism, Orla Elizabeth Tegwen Clubbs and her parents Simon and Kate.

Message from Stella Delf
I’m getting ready to run the Brighton Marathon on the 15th April (my first marathon!). I'll be running for Cancer Research UK and I'm looking for sponsors and cake eaters to help me raise money for this amazing cause. Catholic Youth Ministry Careers Fair
As part of the CYM programme for 2018, we will be holding a Careers Fair for young people from 12.30-2.30pm (please note the change to original times listed) at St James the Great Church, Petts Wood. The aim of this event is to assist and equip young people in making decisions regarding their future and to provide information and guidance on a range of opportunities available to them, such as pathways into teaching, Metropolitan police, civil service, engineering, GAP year opportunities and many more. St James’ Social Club AGM
The club is responsible for the running and licensing of the bar in the Community Centre. The AGM will be held at 12.30pm after the 11.00am Mass in the Community Centre. The items on the agenda will be as follows:

Monday 23rd April
The Friends of St James' will be holding a meetin at 7.00pm in the Community Centre. We are planning for our next event which is the St James’ garden party on Sunday 8th July. Everyone in the Parish is invited to come along and share their ideas/vision for the event. If you cannot attend but would like to be involved in any way please contact the Parish Office.
Wednesday 25th April
The Justice and Peace Group will meet at 7.45pm in the Parish Office meeting room (281A Crescent Drive). All parishioners are assured of a warm welcome.
Friday 27th April
Parent and Toddler Group
The group will start again. It will meet every Friday during term time in the Community Centre from 1.30–3.00pm. Parents with babies from 0 up to age 5 are welcome to attend. Do come along and enjoy the companionship and the fun. Refreshments provided. Bollywood Dancing will move to a different afternoon.

Dad and Me
There will be no Dad and Me session this month.

This weekend we welcome, through Holy Baptism, Phoebe Charlotte Sudario Mulhall and her parents Joseph and Malka.
Knights of St Columba
Flavio Iorio will be taking part in a charity bike ride which is being organized by the Rotary Club of St Leonards-on-Sea. This year Flavio will be following the shorter route of 25 miles, being totally unfit and not having used his bike for over two years now.
If you would like to sponsor him there will be a sponsorship form in the church entrance. The monies donated by you will go to St Michael's Hospice (a care home for the terminally ill) and the Hastings Lifeboat (75%), as well as to the Knights of St Columba for good causes (25%). Good luck as usual Flavio!

CWL monthly meeting
The next meeting of the Petts Wood CWL will be at 8.00pm in the Community Centre Small Hall. Non-members are very welcome for the evening, to learn more about the Catholic Women's League, which is an organisation with sections in many different parts of the world, not just Petts Wood.
