Christmas Day lunch
Volunteers are needed to help prepare Christmas Lunch with Fr David. Would you like to help organise, prepare, cook and share, Christmas lunch for Fr David and his parish guests in the Community Centre this year? And maybe plan a Christmas game (charades, bingo?) and a film to watch after lunch too – not forgetting to allow time for the Queen’s speech! If you have ideas and would like to help please email the Parish Office.
Special Youth event to be held at St James' in February 2019
CYM Careers Fair
Following the success of our first CYM Careers Fair in April 2018, we are planning to hold a second careers event on Saturday 9th February 2019 from 11.30am-2.30pm at St James the Great Church, Petts Wood. Come and take part in ‘mock interviews’, receive one-to-one careers advice from industry professionals, find out about the range of opportunities relating to modern day apprenticeships, peer ministry and GAP year opportunities and receive practical tips to help craft the perfect CV.
Volunteers needed!
We are extremely grateful to all the parishioners, from a wide range of industries and professions, who kindly volunteered their time in April to advise and share their considerable experience with our young people. Looking ahead, we would love to hear from interested parishioners with key experience and core skills to share who would like to be involved in our second Careers Fair.
Week of Accompanied Prayer 2019
Opportunity to help make it happen
We are preparing another Week of Accompanied Prayer. It will be in Lent from 10-16th March 2019. At its heart it is simple for participants. During the week they spend 30 minutes a day in private prayer anywhere, and then another 30 minutes a day, at a time of their choosing, with a Prayer Guide at St James'. A number of parishioners have already found it very helpful.
